The HP ZR2740w monitor

HP ZR2740w is considered to be at this point the best gaming monitor that exists on the market, so it’s not cheap at all! With a starting price of 680 dollars and reaching up to the price of 1100 dollars, this latest generation monitor presents itself as a true investment for the passionate gamers who only want top class products. This top product manufactured by HP brings a new kind of video definition for the regular user: the extreme definition – XD. The high definition monitors can be soon forgotten because the new generation of displays with options and extreme resolutions shall soon take over the market.

But what does HP ZR2740w have so special that it costs over 700 dollars?
Well, the monitor has a ventilation system that is pretty voluminous and an IPS panel that offers the functioning power. With a leg equally voluminous and powerful, the display is certainly not in the danger of inclining or falling in case of being shaken. The 27-inch display with an XD 2560×1440 resolution offers a 136,000:1 contrast, which means a superior graphic integrity in comparison to any monitors that have a lower resolution.

A small shortcoming of HP ZR2740w is the lack of a larger number of ports, considering that it presents only a DVI port and a DisplayPort. The two ports are beneath the display, which makes the access to them be considerably more difficult. On the sides of the panel there are five USB ports aligned in groups of two.

The monitor is pretty flexible as it can be turned 35 degrees towards the back and 45 degrees towards the left and right. It also has a 90-degree pivot with an adjustment of up to 4 inch from the screen’s height. The monitor also has a transport handle and an option to control the image brightness.

HP ZR2740w has been tested with the games Dragon Age 2 and Torchlight and it presented vivid graphic details and a large diametrical contrast which offers an excellent visual impact. The monitor has a consumption rate of 26 watts/hour, while in the stand-by mode it consumes 1.2 watts hour. The monitor also has a contrast ratio of 1119:1, which is the best in its competitors’ grid.
