Office 2013 was launched at the end of January 29th. The orders for this program are increasing more and more, so Microsoft would better be ready for an avalanche of requests. In order to use this software product, one will need at least the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system or even a better one. The researches for this version of Office have begun since the year 2010, a few months prior to the launch of Office 2010.
What does Office 2013 bring new? Well, this version offers wider support for formatting the files than the previous version, allows the functioning of touch-screen gadgets and makes updates b itself as far as the work interface is concerned. On top of that, the software saves the user’s documents directly on the user’s SkyDrive, thus allowing the access to these documents from any computer connected to the Internet as long as the user remembers his username and the password for his Microsoft Windows Live account.
This version of Office allows the user to read, write and edit, including in the PDF format, to insert audio and video files directly from the Internet and synchronize the existent documents from any computer. Amongst the new features offered by Office 2013, there are new visualizations of the tasks in Outlook, new graphic options in Word, new presentation modules in PowerPoint, the possibility to move the images a lot more easier, online support from Bing, Office or Flickr and new animations and customization options for the PowerPoint slides. Besides these, the software also offers Onlook support for Hotmail.com and Outlook.com, also offering access to Yammer and Skype and accepting new limitation models.
How much does an Office 2013 pack cost?
Well, this depends on the type of package that suits your needs best. The Home & Student pack is sold at roughly 140 US dollars and it contains Excel, Word, PowerPoint and One Note, whilst the Home & Business version costs roughly 220 dollars and it has, besides the features already mentioned in the cheaper package, Outlook too. The Professional pack costs roughly 400 dollars and contains Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note, Publisher, Outlook and Access. Professional Plus can be bought only in multiple copies and, besides the options mentioned in the Professional pack, it contains also InfoPath and Lync.
Each pack also contains a paying subscription to Office 365 which offers the user new applications and features. The users that already have an Office 365 account can use Office 2013 at a price of 20 dollars per year. The product requires 3 GB of free space on the hard drive, at least 1 GB of RAM memory, a video card that supports Directx 10 and an operating system like Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 or newer.
The users can also try the trialware 60-days version for Professional Plus, Project Professional 2013 and Visio Professional. The Surface tablets are already using a simpler version of Office 2013, which comes pre-installed when acquiring the tablet (OEM version).
