Samsung Chromebook, a laptop destined for browsing that has recently been launched on the market, demonstrates that cheap laptops can also be performing. At least if we take into consideration how much money it costs. This slim laptop costs only 250 dollars and this is because it comes only with Chrome OS, the easy and reliable operating system made by Google which is based solely on a browser. This laptop proves a point of view that Google has held for many years –that a laptop used at home can be used anytime and should not cost too much.

Although it has decent performances regarding Internet navigation, Samsung Chromebook does not handle properly the demands of the users that usually open dozens of web pages. It is however quite good when it comes to the management of documents and of the Google cloud options, as well as the Gmail access, Google Drive and Google Docs.

The laptop is pretty light, thin and small, having a display of 11 inches, HD with a resolution of 1366×768, a small keyboard and a pretty generous touchpad. Under the case there’s a Samsung Exynos 5 Dual processor with 2 GB of RAM memory. It also has USB 2.0, as well as USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and a WiFi 820.11n. Inside it also has a 16 GB storage capacity in a flash-drive so the users will have to rely on the space on Google Drive, which will allow 100 GB for free for 2 years for those that buy this laptop.

Samsung Chromebook cannot be used to communicate through Skype, to work in Photoshop, Microsoft Office or use Spotify for instance – so this is why those that don’t spend too much time on the Internet should not give their money on this product. Chrome OS only ensures the navigation on the Internet and allows people to read the news, waste time on Facebook, Youtube and other social media, pay the bills and check one’s e-mails.
