Nvidia Shield is the new console that has made a splash since its launch at the CES show in Las Vegas this year. As part of the new generation of handheld consoles, the product from Nvidia has tried to lead the market since its debut. Although those from the world of video cards expected that there would be substantial gains and that the final product would be loved by the public, all the eyes of the people present at the convention were caught by the Edge console from Razer.
Nvidia Shield is quite small, looking almost like a PlayStation 3 controller and has a screen that rises above the buttons. The product has controllers, joysticks and buttons and manufacturers claim that the battery lasts between 5 and 10 hours of play. Although still a prototype, the handheld console has as a component a 4 quadcore Tegra processor of the parent company, also a new product on the market.
Even if producers believe that this console is an Android incarnation, they declare that a player can try both Android games and TegraZone games or even computer games in single or multiplayer versions. The open platform has standard jacks and comes equipped with a special place for MicroSD cards.
As Nvidia Shield remains at the prototype stage for a while, so it is understandable why its price remains a mystery. It is expected that the portable console will be ready for launch in the late 2013, but producers are reluctant about it.
