Stealth Bastard is an independent game made by Curve Studios for the Microsoft Windows operating systems. This small platform action games offers any player the adventure of his life in a funny storyline that is also filled with puzzles that are just awaiting to be discovered and solved. The game has a score of 80 points out of 100 on Metacritic and its price is no higher than 10 Euros. On top of that, players shall have the chance to discover a new stealth game genre.

In Stealth Bastard, any second matters. The idea of the game came exactly from the slow rhythm of the stealth games in which the player has to hide from enemies, move through the dark in order to avoid being seen and enjoy the adrenaline of infiltrating in a target location. This game has a fast progress rhythm in which any move matters because, in the end, it may lead to the little bastard infiltrated in the enemy’s base getting caught. This game comes as a platform adventure in which the player is on the edge at any given moment and attempts desperately to stay alive, hide the best he can, stay away from dangers, but also fulfill his mission.

The small avatar – which is the main character in Stealth Bastard – has only the work strength and a pair of infrared glasses and has to infiltrate in a building in which enemies try to break, smash and tear apart his fragile body. Without having any kind of weapon or armor to protect him, the player’s avatar needs to stay away from dangers because any wrong move can bring his death. In order to avoid the unwanted attention and the numerous unwanted robotic guests, the player is encouraged to stay away from light, while in order to avoid being cut into pieces by lasers, the player needs to jump as fast and as high as he can, in order to find some “electronic knives”. The walls aren’t the little bastard’s best friend either, as the walls are also moving and they can get close to him and smash him with incredibly high speeds.

Studies have shown that only the most skilled and bravest players succeed in getting out of this building without being cut into pieces. Stealth Bastard has 80 campaign levels that are spread on six worlds. The player is given unexpected puzzles and tough challenges from which he will barely escape (if he will at all!), as the enemy robots don’t want the player to go further into the death’s factory at all. The dynamic light makes the exploration of the building be even more difficult, because when everything is ok, lights reaches the player, which means only one thing: You’ve been discovered!

With each level, the player obtains new gadgets that will help him get away from the enemies that will certainly end up surrounding him at least once at one given moment. In order to discover new equipments and hidden levels, the player needs to explore all the levels that are put at his disposal. The player also has the possibility of creating his own game maps that he can afterwards make public so everyone will try to show him that this game is not impossible to finish. However, only the best of the best will succeed!

In order to play Stealth Bastard you need to know a thing or two about the minimum technical details of the game. So, you need at least Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 or better as an operating system, a dual core processor working at a frequency of 2.5 GHz (or better), a video card that is DirectX 8.0 compatible (or better), 2 GB of RAM memory and 250 MB free disk space.
